Get to Know Our Doctors – Dr. Mariano!

 

Dr. Mariano grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where his father was also an eye surgeon! He later attended Carleton College of Northfield, MN where he graduated cum laude. After Carleton, he went to medical school at the University of North Dakota, followed by internship training at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

Dr. Mariano completed his ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. During his final year of residency, he served as the chief resident. Due to an interest in treating glaucoma, he completed additional fellowship training in glaucoma at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Mariano is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Mariano has a comprehensive ophthalmology practice treating diseases of the eye, including eye surgery and laser eye surgery. He is certified on the VISX excimer laser for laser refractive procedures. He also has specialized training in glaucoma, and is able to provide advanced glaucoma treatment and surgery.

Dr. Mariano has performed over 1,000 refractive procedures including LASIK, Photorefractive Keratectomy, cataract surgery, ReZoom multifocal lenses and Intracorneal collamer lenses (ICL’s).
